I'll be scared of them until the day I die.

I have a friend from Serbia, another from Yugoslavia, and one from Bosnia. Not Russia anymore, but still. All three talk about the hatred alot of the people there still harbor for America and the same that people in Russia still do. You just don't hear anything about it I suppose.

    Re: Pretty Scary Stuff Here

I look at it this way, which I will probably be bashed for but here goes....

The attacks on 911 weren't that smart. They were a lot more surprising than elaborate. They used commercial airlines to crash into buildings, while using box-cutters mind you to hijack the planes. They apparently didn't anticipate that much fight i.e. the crash in Penn. Think about it, do you honestly think they thought towers would have collapsed like they did? Don't think so, like no one really did. Its kinda like a little kid bowling, he throws the ball down the lane hoping to hit a few pins..and shits himself when he hits a strike. America was caught COMPLETELY off guard and the element of surprise is the most effective way of doing damage obviously. It wasn't as thought out as the govt wants us to believe, I mean who wants to admit they were fooled by someone who really isn't that smart.

They are clever, I'll give them that. But genius masterminds they are not IMO. The US is a lot more aware, prepared and on guard than we were then. Kim Jong is power hungry and crazy and has millions under his control, he just as determined and more capable.

    no they didnt

what they were hoping is that they would just knock them over and have them fall in two different directions thus taking out half of downtown NYC

if that had indeed happened........it would have been much much worse

as far as genius masterminds.......they really are

they did enough homework to know that airlines security as a whole was weak and there were flaws but that nobody would ever suspect something such as that to be used in an attack

they found a weakness and expolited it

pretty damn good on their part

He is defintely more capable, but I think he is less determined. He stands to lose more than Al Qaeda does, and he is more afraid. Not to mention he pisses the bed when he thinks of China.

I'll agree they were just kinda swingin with their eyes closed, got more lucky than they thought. But, as we have gotten smarter and more prepared they do have gotten smarter. I think we would all be fools to think otherwise.

And do to our presence in Iraq, support of Israel, and the fastest growing religion in the world they are gaining numbers quicker than we are killing them.

And that just solidifies my point, because that was 100 times more less likely to happen then them even collapsing straight down. And how do you know thats what they thought was going to happen?

Exactly, presence in Iraq is really pissing them off even more - we have always supported Israel though. And the gaining of numbers has been happening for years now, long before 911. I heard someone on the news talking about the torturing we did to them that caused a ton of them to join up and get a shot at killing or torturing one of ours. The US has and is continuing to bring a lot of this on themselves, which will get more innocent civilians killed.

    Re: Pretty Scary Stuff Here

I'll agree with you there somewhat. The torturing of their soldiers who may have contained information or whatnot is validated, but should have never been leaked. That is part of war, like it or not.

But some of the ones tortured were just tortured for the hell of it it seems. I can understand why they are pissed over that.

But everytime I think of how we tortured them, and get mad...I think of that terrible awful Nick Berg video...I still get cold chills when I think of that.

because they knew the buildings were designed to handle the blow of a 707 which is why they used large planes

secondly looking at the different impact angles and points you can logically figure that was the most likely what they thought would happen
